North America: Ep 11 - Washington DC

Breakfast opened at 06:30am this morning which we had a voucher for, before loading everything onto the coach 1 hour later. Today we would be making the long drive to the nation's capital of Washington DC, where we would spend 2 nights. We drove for around 4 hours with a morning break before arriving at our quick 45 minute lunch stop.
As we continued on through Pennsylvania, we were able to pass through an Amish community. We stopped here briefly to look at a farm with miniature horses before driving closer to our final destination for the day.

We continued on towards Washington DC passing through Baltimore, where we arrived around 5:30pm. Before check-in at the hotel we visited Arlington National Cemetery which has many gravestones of those who lost their lives in the many wars America had fought in.

Later in the evening we had a quick drive around to see a few of the memorials lit up at night. We finished the night very late at the Lincoln Memorial, with a great view of the Washington Monument. After a very long day it was time to sleep after 11pm ready to explore Washington DC further tomorrow.

The following day we had a short lay in with breakfast at 07:30am. After a leisurely breakfast, the coach departed from the hotel back to Washington DC at 08:45pm.
We had the option to join an extended tour with the coach for $25, but myself and a few others created a walking tour for ourselves for free. There is also a free circulator bus on a set route, as well as most of the museums are also free entry.

After almost a full day exploring the coach pickup time was set for 17:45pm. This was perfect as everything started to close as well as the weather also taking a turn for the worse.
