South Africa 2018 - Day 12: Kruger National Park Day 3

Today most of the group would be doing a sunset game drive with barbecue dinner included, so we all had a good sleep with no real rush to get up. Most people used this opportunity to relax around the hotel pool or sit in the sunshine. After a relaxing day we all met in the lobby at 4pm. After a short delay we transferred to the Kruger National Park for our third and final time.

Our group of 20 made our way to a spot to get a great photo of the sunset. We had a target of around 7pm for the dinner so we continued to explore. We went to the same spot where we saw the leopard yesterday and we were lucky enough to see it feasting on the Impala in the tree. It was amazing to watch this happen in the wild right in front of our eyes. After the light had faded we stopped at our designated dinner spot and enjoyed a meal in the middle of the park. We had an armed guard on standby at all times. I was able to also use this opportunity to take some fantastic stargazing photos.

After dinner we headed back to the gate for our pickup to the hotel. Some other sightings this evening were a hyena, hippo, a few impala and lots of rabbits. We got back to the hotel just after 9pm and I would definitely recommend the Kruger National Park experience to anybody. We got some different sightings at night but I still prefer the full day experiences I had in the 2 days prior.

I waited in the lobby to meet half of the group, and we joined the other half already on the coach making 17 of us in total. We made the very short trip from our hotel around the corner to start the day at Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen Square Within the first 10 minutes I had already had my first photo taken because of my height. The square is one of the biggest squares in the world and is perhaps most famous for the 1989 protests. On the square you will find Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong. Final preparations for North America

I am now just a couple of weeks away from travelling to North America for the first time. I will be flying to New York and heading in a anti-clockwise direction through Canada, before coming back into the USA. In total I will pass through over 10 cities in the North East region of North America over a 2 week period as a group, before exploring New York on my own on the final day. Tour Map. The outbound flight from the UK I managed to get one of the extra leg room seats, but on the return flight I was unable to as they were already taken. So hopefully I can get some sleep on the way back to make it go a little bit faster. As always while I am away I will be taking plenty of footage to create YouTube videos when I get home. I have already created the templates for the video thumbnails to save time, but I still need to find some music, which always seems to be one of the hardest parts about creating them. 1 month until South Africa

I am now just over 4 weeks away from my Journey to South Africa. This will be my 32nd country I have visited and the first time travelling to the Southern Hemisphere. For the long haul overnight flights I have chosen the extra leg room in the emergency exits so I can get some good rest. It was quite expensive to choose those seats but I feel it was worth it for such a long flight. I have lots of optionals to choose from when in South Africa for the free days. One of those things was a cable car up to Table mountain in Cape Town. I have bought a ticket in advance as I am expecting it to be very busy as it is closed for maintenance a few days after I arrive. So to avoid queuing I advanced purchased a ticket which is valid for 7 days from the chosen date. Cape Town has recently struggled with a water shortage.
